Animal CRUELTY…Boys ages 12, 14 and 16 Charged…a hideous crime…

In SEGUIN, the torture and beheading of a dog in Seguin has outraged hundreds worldwide who want three teens accused of the violent act to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Three teen boys remain in custody at the Guadalupe Juvenile Detention Center on accusations of killing a girl’s beloved dog, Tobey. County Attorney Elizabeth Murray-Kolb said her office has piles of letters, e~mails and faxes that express shock, anger, and disbelief over the incident.

English songwriter Maria Daines even wrote a song called “Tears for Tobey” in reaction to the cruelty case. Many letters call for Kolb to push for the teens to be prosecuted under a new law that would sentence them to 10 years in prison. Kolb said she will do her best to push for the maximum punishment, but she said it will be difficult since the incident occurred before the new law took effect. “We believe it’s in their best interest and in the community’s best interest to have them stay right there,” Kolb said.A hearing has been set for Wednesday, and its outcome could determine how quickly the case gets prosecuted.
